MEET OUR FAMILY

Founded in 2012 by Art Director and Stylist Bing Rowland, Good Studios began as a humble hemp clothing label with a simple mission — to make things better. Over time, Bing teamed up with her mother, Kate, to grow the collection into a made-to-order bedding and homewares range, crafted with care and purpose.

As a family-run business — now with two young bairns in tow — we’re always searching for that beautiful balance: being present with our loved ones while building something they’d be proud to inherit.

Every bedding piece in our hemp collection is made to order by Kate (aka Mum) in her home studio by the sea in Port Willunga, South Australia. In Bing’s Manly studio, we create our one-off hand-stitched noren curtains and heirloom quilts which are quilted just down the road in Narrabeen, New South Wales.

What items are in your bedding sets? Plus

Our bedding sets contain

  • 2 x pillowcases ( 1 x for single and king single)
  • 1 x fitted sheet
  • 1 x quilt cover

Top sheets are sold separately

Is the hemp organic? Plus

Hemp doesn't require sprays to grow as it's naturally built to withstand weeds and bugs. Our suppliers buy small batches from farmers who cannot afford organic certification so we will never say its organic, but it's just not standard practice to use herbicides and pesticides on the hemp plant due to its inherent antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. What dyes do you use? Plus

Our dyeing process carries OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, meaning the fabric has been tested for harmful substances and found to be completely harmless for human health.

During the fabric dyeing processes, the following dye stuffs are used: 
 1) Pretreatment—sodium hydroxide, hydrogen peroxide
 2) Boil and steaming- scouring agent, caustic soda 
 3) Bleaching- hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite
 4) Dyeing and Washing -  OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified dyes
 5) Heat Setting - soften additives and color-fixing agent
 6) Enzyme Washing- cellulase

When we receive the fabric in Australia, it has sizing in it which allows for a much easier sewing process. Once we finish manufacturing we wash the fabric using a sensitive detergent and a hint of lavender oil which removes all sizing and softens the fibre. We then dry and press your bedding so it is ready to put on your bed as soon as you receive it - no re-washing required!

Can I feel the fabric before I order? Plus

There's noting worse than investing in new bedding only to find it scratchy and not the right colour at all! We're very confident you won't find our bedding scratchy but we've taken the guesswork out of it by offering swatches, simply order the colours you're curious about and we'll send them your way and send you a voucher for the same amount to use on a future bedding purchase. :)

GOOD STUDIOS WARRANTY & RETURNS POLICY

At Good Studios, we take pride in the quality, craftsmanship, and longevity of everything we make. Our products are designed to be used, loved, and repaired — not replaced unnecessarily. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we offer a warranty and returns policy that reflects this ethos.


PLEASE CHOOSE CAREFULLY

These policies apply to both bedding and clothing items. Please read carefully as return conditions may vary between product categories.


BEDDING POLICIES

All bedding is custom made and shipped within four weeks of your order and cannot be returned or exchanged for change of mind. Please choose carefully when ordering and reach out if you are unsure of sizing. We’ve done our best to represent colours accurately, but if you’re particular about shade (we hear you!), we recommend ordering swatches first.


3-YEAR WARRANTY (All Bedding Items Except Fitted Sheets)

Our bedding is made to last — and we stand behind it with a 3-year warranty on construction for all standard bedding items (excluding fitted sheets).

This warranty covers manufacturing defects but does not apply to general wear and tear, misuse, or damage caused by skincare products, household chemicals, or improper care.

If your item develops a fault within the warranty period, we’ll assess it for repair first, wherever possible. We put great love into every piece we create — and that same care continues through any mending process. If repair isn’t viable or would compromise the function or integrity of the item, we’ll offer a replacement instead.

Please do not send any items back until we’ve confirmed your warranty claim. This allows us to properly assess the issue and advise the best next step, while ensuring returned goods are processed efficiently and with care.


6-MONTH FITTED SHEET WARRANTY

Due to the unique wear patterns fitted sheets experience, we offer a 6-month warranty specifically for these items.

Fitted sheets undergo daily pressure and friction that varies widely depending on sleep habits, mattress types, and care routines. We’ve found that while the rest of the bedding may stay in excellent condition, fitted sheets can wear through faster — and that’s not always due to a fault in construction.

This warranty covers any genuine manufacturing defects within the first six months of use. It does not cover general thinning, heavy wear, damage caused by skincare or cleaning products, pets, or friction from mattress seams.

To help your fitted sheet last longer, we recommend:

  • Rotating it regularly (top to bottom) to distribute pressure points

  • Alternating between two fitted sheets to reduce daily stress on the fibres

  • Washing on a gentle cycle with mild detergent, and drying in the shade

  • Avoiding overdrying, fabric softeners, or bleach

  • Being mindful of friction from nails, pets, or mattress edges

We encourage you to reach out as soon as you notice signs of wear or thinning — not after a hole has formed — so we can attempt a repair. This is the most sustainable approach and a true reflection of our values at Good Studios.


CLOTHING POLICIES

We want you to love your Good Studios clothing. If for any reason you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, we accept returns for full-priced clothing items within 14 days of receiving your order. Items must be in original, unworn condition with tags attached.

Please note:

  • Sale items are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange

  • Returns must be initiated within 14 days by contacting hai@goodstudios.com.au

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty

  • Approved returns may be refunded or credited depending on item condition


RETURNS & EXCHANGES

  • Email us within 10 days of delivery to request return authorisation

  • Ship the item back within 7 days of receiving approval

  • Items must be returned in unused, unworn condition with tags attached

  • We do not provide return labels or accept returns from external stockists

  • Unauthorised returns will not be processed

For faulty items:

  • Must be purchased from Good Studios at full price

  • Must be within 36 months (or 6 months for fitted sheets)

  • Email hai@goodstudios.com.au with photos, a description of the fault, and proof of purchase (receipt or bank statement)

We’ll respond within 3 business days and send return details if eligible.

Need a spare button or part years later? Reach out — we offer lifetime spares.


REFUNDS & RESTOCKING FEE

  • A 5% restocking fee applies to all refunds to cover processing costs

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method

  • Please allow 5–7 business days for processing once your return is received

  • Shipping costs are non-refundable


FINAL SALE ITEMS

  • All sale and sample sale purchases are final sale — no exceptions

  • Orders cannot be modified or cancelled during sale periods


TO RETURN AN ITEM

Please use the compostable packaging your item came in (it has a secondary seal) or a recyclable parcel of your own. We ask you not to use generic plastic satchels in line with our sustainability ethos.

Return instructions and address will be provided once your return is approved.


DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE ITEMS

If your item arrives damaged or defective, please email us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of both the product and the packaging. We’ll work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
